Nishijin is situated in the northwestern part of Kyoto and is a famous production site of Nishijin woven fabric. Nishijin is the only area where the spirit of craftsmanship and everyday life of Kyoto are still alive.
In this walk, we stroll about alleys lined with old town houses called Machiya (combined house and store for craftsman and merchant), visit two temples worshiped by locals and finish off the walk at Kamishichiken, the oldest geisha district of Kyoto.
